UPDATE: Ohio State Successfully Adds Transfer QB Julian Sayin from Alabama
Ohio State’s success in the transfer portal continues to grow as they secure a commitment from quarterback Julian Sayin, formerly with the Alabama Crimson Tide. This marks the third player Ohio State has acquired from Alabama through the portal, with offensive lineman Seth McLaughlin and defensive back Caleb Downs also joining the Buckeyes. Downs, regarded as the top-ranked player in the transfer portal, further adds to Ohio State’s impressive acquisitions.
Julian Sayin, a former five-star recruit from Carlsbad, California, had been verbally committed to Alabama since November 2, 2022. He signed his national letter of intent with Alabama during the early signing window in December 2023. However, following a recent coaching change at Alabama, with Kalen DeBoer taking over from the retired Nick Saban, Sayin has opted to make the move to Ohio State.
