Integrating newcomers into the Buckeyes’ offensive strategy
Ryan Day found Ohio State’s 2023 offense below his expectations, prompting significant changes in the offseason to address the issues.
In an effort to enhance the offensive coaching staff, Day brought in Bill O’Brien, an experienced play caller, as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Additionally, the reshuffling involved moving quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis to a different, yet-to-be-disclosed role.
The Buckeyes took an assertive approach in reinforcing their roster by delving into the transfer portal. Notable additions include quarterback Will Howard from Kansas State, transfer Quinshon Judkins from Ole Miss, and center Seth McLaughlin from Alabama, among others. Although there are still positions to fill, such as tackle and the void left by star wideout Marvin Harrison Jr., the overall outlook suggests significant improvements in key areas of the offense.
