‘I felt nothing but love’, Kris Thompson Breaks Down His Tennessee Visit
During an unofficial visit over the weekend, Kris Thompson, a three-star linebacker from Nashville, Tennessee, received an offer from the Tennessee Volunteers for the 2025 class. The visit was part of a successful recruiting event hosted by Tennessee, attracting high-level prospects and local talents. Thompson, formerly teammates with two Tennessee signees, Kaleb Beasley and Edwin Spillman, shared his experience with Volunteer Country.
Describing the visit, Thompson expressed, “The visit was great; as soon as I walked in, I felt nothing but love.” He received the offer during his visit and credited the timing to divine intervention, saying, “I really just started giving Jesus Christ all the praise because it was his timing!”
When asked about what sets Tennessee apart for him, Thompson emphasized the unique relationships coaches build with players. He noted that his discussions about football were minimal, stating, “I only got asked maybe two questions about football the whole day.” Thompson highlighted his connection with his position coach, Coach Brian Jean-Mary, sharing, “I was with Coach Jean-Mary the whole day, and we connected and just really enjoyed the day. The pitch to me was to keep making plays and just grind because if I keep getting better, then the sky is the limit.”
Thompson also had a call with his former teammate, Kaleb Beasley, expressing, “I got to connect with Kaleb; he called me after I got offered and just expressed how proud he was and that I know where home is.” Being an in-state prospect, Thompson’s visit enhances Tennessee’s standing as a solid option for the linebacker as they pursue him in the recruiting process.
