The New England Patriots, after securing former Cleveland Browns tight ends coach T.C. McCartney for the role of quarterbacks coach, are reportedly bringing on Scott Peters, a former Browns assistant coach, to serve as their new offensive line coach, according to information from the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan.

Peters, who initially entered the NFL scene with the Browns in 2020 and collaborated closely with Van Pelt for four seasons, is now set to reunite with him in New England. The aim is to address one of the team’s significant challenges throughout the 2023 season.

This hiring indicates that the Patriots are allowing Van Pelt to shape his own offensive staff. According to the Boston Sports Journal’s Mike Giardi, the Patriots’ coaching staff was intent on avoiding a situation akin to Bill O’Brien’s, emphasizing a collaborative approach in staffing decisions.
