The 70-year-old, who also had a stint as the caretaker manager for Crystal Palace, previously served as the academy director at Charlton when Nathan Jones was appointed as the U21 boss in 2012.
Hart has collaborated with Jones at Luton Town and Stoke City since then. Jones, recently appointed as the manager, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “It’s very good to be back. I’ve still got lots of old friends here and some very happy memories. I’m very much looking forward to the role.”
Reflecting on their past collaboration, Jones mentioned, “I’ve done it before with Nathan, and we’ve known each other a good while now from the Charlton days. We’re looking forward to helping Charlton achieve what they want to achieve. Nathan’s a very good coach, and ultimately we try to make the individuals and the team better.”
Jones concluded by expressing delight at welcoming Paul back to Charlton, considering it a significant coup for the club.
