Norwich City’s leading goal scorer, Jonathan Rowe, has emphasized his concentration on playing football and isn’t currently considering his future.
Despite reported interest from the Premier League following his impressive tally of 11 goals this season, including a brace against Ipswich, the 20-year-old is focused on the present. His existing contract extends until July 2025, with an optional additional year at the club’s discretion.
Rowe expressed his determination to avoid distractions, stating, “I’m not trying to let all that noise affect my football.” He intends to maintain focus on aiding Norwich’s return to the Premier League and will address contract matters during the summer review.
Norwich supporters are accustomed to seeing star players transferred, such as Max Aarons and Andrew Omobamidele in previous summers. Despite Rowe’s outstanding form and England Under-21 call-up, coach David Wagner reassured fans, highlighting Rowe’s contentment with his current contract and the club’s satisfaction with his performances.
Wagner, along with newly appointed sporting director Ben Knapper, will oversee negotiations, whether it involves extending Rowe’s contract or a potential lucrative transfer away from Carrow Road. They’ve agreed to wait until the season’s end to discuss Rowe’s future, prioritizing his on-pitch focus for now.
Wagner emphasized the importance of supporting Rowe on the field, aiming for a strong second half of the season after an impressive start. They aim to ensure his continued success moving forward.
