The Kentucky Wildcats are gearing up for Spring Practice under the leadership of Mark Stoops as they navigate the new-look SEC this season. With the addition of offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan and the return of key players, the team is poised for the upcoming fall, albeit missing three players from last season’s roster.
In the latest roster update, offensive lineman Tanner Bowles, offensive lineman Nick Hall, and walk-on running back Jaquez Keys were notably absent. According to a report by Nick Roush of KSR, Hall has opted to retire from football, while Bowles has chosen to exhaust his eligibility.
Bowles, originally from Glasgow, joined Lexington last season after transferring from the Crimson Tide and played in 10 games for the Cats. A 4-star prospect and a top-20 guard in the 2019 class, Bowles made a significant impact during his time with the team.
Hall, son of former Wildcat Antonio Hall, selected the Cats over offers from Baylor, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and others. Unfortunately, an injury has compelled him to retire from football, despite being in a favorable position to compete for a spot early in his career.
Keys, who initially signed with Wake Forest as a linebacker recruit, did not see any playing time on the field in the past season after joining Kentucky.
