Given this alarming statistic, NFL executive vice president Jeff Miller expressed his hope that the NFL would prohibit hip drops during the upcoming off-season, as reported by Judy Battista of NFL Media.
One of the challenges in addressing this issue lies in the difficulty of precisely defining the hip-drop tackle well enough to establish a clear rule or impose a ban.
