[5] Reasons whyPittsburgh Steelers ownership sell the club immidietely…

According to Tan, minority owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer are in the process of finalizing an agreement to sell their stake in the team to an investor group led by Art Rooney II and Thomas Tull.

“The transaction, subject to approval from the National Football League, is expected to be concluded in the coming months, as disclosed by individuals familiar with the matter, all of whom sought anonymity when discussing confidential details,” wrote Tan. “The financial terms of the deal could not be immediately ascertained.”

Harris and Blitzer currently hold a stake in another NFL team, having been part of the consortium that acquired the Washington Commanders last summer. However, NFL regulations stipulate that individuals cannot own shares in multiple franchises when they possess the majority stake in at least one team. Consequently, Harris and Blitzer, who own less than 5% of the Commanders, were given a grace period by the NFL to seek a buyer for their Steelers shares.

Tan had previously reported in August that Tull, the founder of Legendary Entertainment, had expressed interest in acquiring a larger share of the Steelers. With Harris and Blitzer actively searching for a buyer, it appears that Tull’s aspirations are now set to materialize.
