Canterbury has secured the services of NRL premiership winner Zane Tetevano on a one-year contract, providing a much-needed boost to their front pack.

Formerly playing for the Leeds Rhinos in the Super League, the 33-year-old is set to conclude his stint with the Bulldogs in Australia.

Possessing almost 120 first-grade games experience and having represented New Zealand in international competitions on three occasions, Tetevano brings a wealth of skill and expertise to the team.

Phil Gould expressed in a statement on Thursday afternoon, “Zane is a highly respected senior player who will bring leadership and work ethic to our group.”

With Tetevano joining Max King and Poasa Faamausili as front-row options for the Bulldogs, the team is strategically positioned for the 2024 season, benefitting from the development of promising talent Samuel Hughes, who recently signed a contract extension.
