Lamar Jackson of the Ravens fires back at Mike Florio for what he deems as “disrespectful” criticism.

The highly anticipated Monday night clash between the AFC-leading Baltimore Ravens and the NFC-leading San Francisco 49ers, initially considered a potential Super Bowl preview, took an unexpected turn. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, in a candid preview on his podcast with former NFL quarterback Chris Simms, had boldly predicted a lopsided victory for the 49ers: “The 49ers kick the (expletive) out of the Ravens on Monday night.”

Contrary to Florio’s forecast, the Ravens secured a convincing 33-19 triumph. In response to Florio’s pre-game comments, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson expressed his displeasure, stating, “You can’t just discredit us… That’s disrespectful. That’s very disrespectful.” Jackson emphasized that despite differing opinions, mutual respect should prevail, particularly from those who aren’t on the field.

Jackson further remarked, “He needs to just keep doing his job, but don’t come off like that towards us. Because that’s disrespectful, like I said. Because he ain’t putting them pads on.” Celebrating the victory, Jackson pointedly addressed Florio as “Mike Flores” in a moment of triumph.

In the aftermath of the Ravens’ impressive performance, Florio acknowledged his overzealous prediction and issued an apology on social media, conceding, “Lamar is right. I apologize for how I phrased my opinion… The Ravens proved otherwise. They deserve complete and total respect for what they accomplished.”
