A charity dedicated to supporting individuals who have experienced sexual abuse has expressed disapproval towards a council for allocating additional funds to a city center development while simultaneously reducing its contract. However, Coventry City Council has appealed to its cabinet for assistance in addressing a multi-million pound deficit in its plans to transform the designated site.
The Coventry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (CRASAC), whose £200,000 contract with the council was not renewed prior to the implementation of budget cuts, has raised concerns about the council’s allocation of resources. Despite budgetary constraints, the council has refrained from commenting on the specific costs associated with the renovation of the furniture store. Instead, the council asserts that the project will have positive implications for the city and contribute to the economic growth of the region.
