“Arkansas Guard Keyon Menifield Enters Transfer Portal”
Arkansas sophomore guard Keyon Menifield has decided to enter the transfer portal, as reported by Joe Tipton of On3 sports. The player whom Musselman, Arkansas’ head coach, had his wife stay up late to watch, will not be returning as a Razorback next season.
Hailing from Flint, Michigan, Menifield transferred to Arkansas after spending one season at Washington. Due to past academic issues, he initially joined Arkansas as a walk-on with the possibility of earning a scholarship for the following season.
Throughout his time with the Razorbacks, Menifield posted averages of eight points, two rebounds, and two assists per game, following his absence for the first nine games of the regular season. Notably, he achieved a career-high of 32 points against UNC-Wilmington in his third appearance for Arkansas. He also reached double figures in scoring three other times during SEC play.
During his 14-game stint with Arkansas, Menifield maintained shooting percentages of 38% from the field, 32% from beyond the arc, and 74% from the free-throw line. While at Washington, he was recognized with a selection to the PAC-12 All-Freshman team after averaging 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists per game.
