“Mavs’ Pursuit of Kyle Kuzma from Washington Wizards Appears Unlikely to Materialize”
Charlotte Hornets forward P.J. Washington emerges as the primary target for the Dallas Mavericks ahead of the NBA trade deadline on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, as per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
During the latest episode of The Woj Pod at the 7:05 mark, Wojnarowski mentioned that the Mavs persistently pursued Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma but stated that such a deal is unlikely to materialize. Consequently, Dallas is shifting its focus toward acquiring Washington.
Reports suggest that the Hornets and Mavericks have already engaged in trade discussions and are expected to continue negotiations.
Regarding Kuzma, the Wizards are not under immediate pressure to trade him despite their low standing in the league. Kuzma is in the initial season of a four-year, $90 million contract, allowing the front office flexibility to revisit potential deals in the future.
NBA insider Marc Stein also noted that Kuzma’s apparent preference to remain with the Wizards is seen as a significant factor contributing to the likelihood of him staying in Washington, D.C.
