The 23-year-old expresses eagerness for the opportunity to play for West Ham.
A West Ham United player is optimistic about returning to the club this summer after being loaned out to SK Austria Klagenfurt for the remainder of the season.
In the summer of 2023, David Moyes brought in five new players for the club. Among these signings was Andy Irving, who was promptly loaned back to SK Austria Klagenfurt for the season.
As Moyes prepares for his summer transfer activities, the player is eager to make his debut at the London Stadium, having not yet played for the team.
Despite doubts among fans about Irving’s ability to secure a first-team spot with the Hammers, the 23-year-old remains confident in his future at the London Stadium. In an exclusive interview with Edinburgh News, he expressed his belief in his potential: “I believe that I can go to West Ham and show my quality. It’s a challenge I’m very excited for. I understand the level that I’m going to, and it’s up to me to show that I can play at that level.”
Irving has been on West Ham’s roster for almost a year now without making an appearance for them, as he was sent on loan to SK Austria Klagenfurt. It’s important to note that West Ham entered into an agreement to become an affiliate club with the Austrian club.
Andy Irving has been a key figure at the Austrian top-flight side, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 20 Austrian Bundesliga appearances this season.
However, Irving faces stiff competition at his parent club, which boasts a multitude of talented midfielders capable of playing various roles in the midfield.
