Arkansas’s Leading Scorer Enters Transfer Portal; Razorbacks Left with Sole Returning Player

Fayetteville, Ark. — Tramon Mark, who led the Razorbacks in scoring last season with an average of 16 points per game, has decided to enter the transfer portal. This move comes as Mark becomes the second scholarship player to leave the Razorbacks since Eric Musselman’s departure announcement, with the coach heading to USC.

The departure of Mark leaves the Razorbacks with only one player remaining from last year’s roster, underscoring the significant roster turnover. As the coaching staff looks ahead to the future, recruiting a complete roster becomes imperative.

Originally from Dickinson, Texas, Mark began his collegiate career with Houston before transferring to Arkansas, aiming to expand his offensive skill set. Throughout his tenure with the Razorbacks, Mark showcased his scoring prowess, recording multiple 30-point games and consistently contributing over 20 points in various matchups.

During his lone season with the Razorbacks, Mark achieved career-best statistics in field goal percentage (48%), three-point percentage (36%), and blocked shots (24). Despite being a senior-to-be, Mark still has two seasons of eligibility remaining, though he may opt for a professional career.

Mark’s entry into the transfer portal follows Khalif Battle’s decision earlier in the week. The Razorbacks are also facing potential transfers from other guards with remaining eligibility, including Joseph Pinion, Layden Blocker, and Devo Davis, as well as big man Baye Fall and seldom-used Denijay Harris.

With the coaching vacancy yet to be filled, Arkansas remains somewhat limited in its ability to actively engage in the transfer portal. However, assistant coaches in Fayetteville have maintained communication with several players exploring new opportunities.

As the Razorbacks navigate this period of transition, the search for a new head coach and the reshaping of the roster will undoubtedly shape the team’s trajectory in the upcoming seasons.
