Greg Cosell thinks Mekhi Becton would be a suitable addition to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Should the Bengals consider signing former Jets first-round pick Mekhi Becton in free agency?
At just 24 years old, Becton was selected 11th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. Despite facing injuries and challenges during his time with the Jets, Greg Cosell of NFL Films suggests he’s worth considering.
“He’s big. He’s athletic. He’d certainly be worth it,” Cosell remarked to Dan Hoard on the Bengals Booth Podcast. “You’re talking about a big, athletic guy. He’s really athletic for his size. Yeah, that’s worth a flier.”
Bengals offensive line coach Frank Pollack was part of the Jets organization when they drafted Becton. Becton had his most successful season under Pollack, playing in 13 games and earning a 74.4 overall grade, as per Pro Football Focus.
During his discussion with Hoard, Cosell also provided insights into the Bengals’ roster, potential free agent signings, and draft prospects. You can listen to the full interview below for more details.
