The Razorbacks are set to host a visit from a McDonald’s All-American recruit.
After the hiring of John Calipari, former Indiana commit Liam McNeeley is considering joining the Razorbacks, according to Easton May. McNeeley, a highly regarded prospect in the 2024 class, holds a consensus 5-star rating and is ranked 15th overall in the 247sports composite ranking system.
While not rushing into official visits, McNeeley plans to commence them after April 21, following the EYBL’s Jordan Brand Classic. Schools in contact with McNeeley include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Michigan, and two-time defending national champions UConn, as reported by Paul Biancardi of ESPN.
Arkansas initially extended an offer while former coach Eric Musselman was in charge in December 2022. However, the 6-foot-7, 210-pound small forward opted not to utilize an official visit to Arkansas.
Initially, McNeeley’s recruiting journey was between Kansas and Indiana. He committed to the Hoosiers on Nov. 8, 2023, exactly four months after signing with them.
During his senior year at Montverde Academy, McNeeley averaged 13 points per game over 33 appearances, demonstrating his versatility by contributing four rebounds, three assists, and one steal per game.
NBA Draft Room holds McNeeley in high regard, considering him one of the top pure shooters in his class. Described as a sturdy combo forward, McNeeley possesses impressive 3-point shooting ability with a smooth, accurate release and solid defensive skills, capable of guarding multiple positions.
After Musselman’s departure, the Razorbacks currently have 13 roster spots available. Five players from the previous season graduated or saw their eligibility expire, while seven others entered the transfer portal, including guards Khalif Battle and Tramon Mark. Additionally, former power forward Trevon Brazile opted to enter the NBA Draft after three collegiate seasons.
