Oregon State Beavers running back Damien Martinez initially had a planned visit through the transfer portal with the Tennessee Volunteers, but he has decided to cancel it.

Damien Martinez, the running back for Oregon State, entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Tuesday, as the official spring portal window opened on April 15. Already, prominent teams are expressing interest in recruiting the talented player. Martinez showcased his skills during his two seasons with the Beavers, accumulating 2,354 all-purpose yards and 16 touchdowns.

Last season, he ranked second in rushing yards within the Pac-12, amassing a total of 1,185 rushing yards. On3’s Jesse Simonton identified five potential destinations for Martinez: Miami, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. The decision to cancel his visit with the Vols, initially scheduled for Wednesday, suggests that Tennessee might be satisfied with their current roster and strategy regarding the transfer portal. Despite the loss of backup running back Cameron Seldon for the spring and summer, the team appears inclined to rely on him upon his return in the fall, possibly increasing his workload during fall camp.
