John Calipari is set to welcome another UNC basketball transfer target visiting Arkansas with a high commitment tendency; what does this mean for Coach Hubert?
North Carolina has successfully secured one player from the transfer portal thus far, securing a commitment from wing player Cade Tyson. With the need to fill three starting positions as they approach the 2024-25 season, the optimal scenario for the Tar Heels involves acquiring at least one more transfer target from the portal, ideally two.
As the available options become limited, one of the primary targets is former Kentucky forward Adou Thiero. Following John Calipari’s departure for Arkansas, Thiero entered the transfer portal and garnered significant interest from various programs, including North Carolina.
However, there’s a possibility that Thiero might opt to reunite with his former coach. On Wednesday, he took a step in that direction.
According to reports from Hawg Sports, Thiero visited Arkansas’ campus from the portal:
Just hours after securing one of the top transfers nationally, Arkansas basketball and John Calipari were hosting another portal prospect on Wednesday afternoon. Former Kentucky forward Adou Thiero confirmed his visit to Fayetteville with a post on his Instagram account.
Standing at 6-foot-8, Thiero was on Arkansas’ campus as they are among his final choices, alongside UNC. Thiero comes off a notable season with the Wildcats, averaging 7.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game.
He started in 19 of the 25 games he played and missed eight games due to injury.
