Tennessee football has opted for a traditional attire in the upcoming Cheez-It Citrus Bowl against Iowa on New Year’s Day, as revealed by the team. The Vols will sport an orange jersey, paired with white pants and a white helmet for the anticipated match at Camping World Stadium.

Scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m. ET, the game features the 21st-ranked Tennessee with an 8-4 record against the 17th-ranked Iowa, who stand at 10-3.

Throughout the season, Tennessee showcased various uniform combinations. In the season opener against Virginia at Nissan Stadium, they sported their classic home uniform—a white helmet and pants coupled with an orange jersey. Similar attire was seen in games against Texas A&M, Georgia, and Vanderbilt. Against UConn, they retained the classic look while introducing “Summit Blue” accents.

A unique all-orange uniform was worn in the UTSA game.

The Vols introduced new alternate uniforms against Austin Peay, honoring former Vols quarterback Condredge Holloway with the “Artful Dodger” Smokey Grey uniforms. Inspired by Holloway’s 1970s teams, these uniforms feature a Smoky Mountains motif on the helmet, a vintage grey face mask, and classic double stripes on the pants. The team plans to showcase a new design each season through at least 2025.

For select games, Tennessee displayed an all-white look against Florida, Alabama, and Kentucky, and opted for orange pants combined with white jerseys and helmets against Missouri.

A return to the all-black “dark mode” uniforms marked their victory against South Carolina on September 30.

Looking back at alternate uniforms during the 2022 season, Tennessee donned all-black “dark mode” attire in their win against Kentucky, a unique combination that hadn’t featured a black helmet before. They also displayed “Summitt Blue” uniform accents in honor of Pat Summitt, a legendary Lady Vols coach, during the UT Martin game. Additionally, the Vols wore “Smokey Grey” alternates in their triumph against LSU, reviving the uniforms from 2017.
