He alongside John Bateman made the move from Wigan to Canberra Raiders back at the end of the 2018 season with the prop arriving in the NRL as a Super League Champion.
Alongside fellow England internationals Josh Hodgson and Elliott Whitehead, Sutton and Bateman helped the Raiders reach the 2019 NRL Grand Final.
Sutton stayed at the club until recently prior to joining Canterbury Bulldogs ahead of the 2023 season on a long-term deal.
Mid-season there were in Australia that the Bulldogs had told Sutton he could explore opportunities elsewhere to address their salary cap issues and this led to speculation he could make the switch to Super League. This returned at the end of the season as the Bulldogs looked for a way to sign Catalans Dragons star Siua Taukeiaho before he failed his medical.
However, Canterbury chief Phil Gould has confirmed he is staying at the club as he recovers from hoping to start the season.
He is the latest player to commit to the Bulldogs who are hoping to climb the ladder in 2024 after years of transition.
