Gaeckle and Fisher receive All-American honors.

The pitching program in Fayetteville continues to excel, with two pitchers being named Freshman All-Americans earlier this week. Colin Fisher was selected as a starter, while Gabe Gaeckle secured a spot as a reliever.

Fisher began seven midweek games for Arkansas before an elbow surgery ended his season after just ten appearances. Prior to his injury, the left-hander maintained a 2.67 ERA and averaged over nine strikeouts per nine innings.

Though Fisher achieved Freshman All-American status in only ten games, Gaeckle consistently delivered strong performances from the bullpen throughout the season. He posted a 2.32 ERA over 42 innings, striking out 57 batters for an average of 12.11 strikeouts per nine innings. Gaeckle also recorded seven saves, including one in Arkansas’s decisive game against Mississippi State.

With Gaeckle and Fisher being the 27th and 28th Razorbacks to earn Freshman All-American honors, this marks the eighth season that Arkansas has had two or more freshmen receive this accolade.
